    With jet engines. That lifts them off the ground and keeps them going. Some planes have two engines and some have four depending on the size and weight of the plane.

    The reason a `plane flies is that it goes along the ground at speed and the air rushing past over the wings create a up ward pressure of air. It is called "lift"

    The air rushing over the top of the wings causeing this lift eventualy is great enough to lift the `plane from the ground and keep it there by the reward thrust of the motors keeping air flowing over the top of the wings maintaining lift.
