Ohhhhhh ..... Ahhhhhh ..... The fragrance of the Pacific Ocean and the boom of the waves.
Also, the horror of my dad in shorts sitting at the bar with his cronies. His legs would not tan and they were like sticks. He had a glass of sherry in his clutch and he was king of the court at Martin's Beach in Half Moon Bay.
And across the street from the inn my mom made a salad with cucumbers, radishes, and green onions. The grill ready for our hamburger patties.

We always took our vacations in New Hampshire (from MA) when I was a kid. With 8 brothers and sisters I now wonder how my parents had the money to take us anywhere. Even when we were at home most days were spent at the beach. I loved the summer we new every kid on the street, most had big families and we all hung out together. I'm very lucky I have great childhood memories. My parents were one of a kind, always there for us.

The only thing was bad in the summer, we could not wear shoes, They were saved for the colder weather.
I don't really remember much from my childhood, it was a traumatic one. My favorite summer had to be when we went to Lake Placid for summer camp. I hooked up with the girl who I dated through high school, we dated off and on for about seven years. It was more on than off.
