    2/5x + 7 = 10 - 1/6x

    Change fractions to a common denominator, then rewrite problem.

    12/30x + 7 = 10 - 5/30x

    12/30x + 5/30x  +7 -7 = 10 -7 - 5/30x + 5/30x

    Or,

    12/30x + 7 = 10 - 5/30x

    +5/30x   -7  = -7   +5/30x

    -------------------------------------

    17/30x = 3

    +7 and -7, -5/30x and +5/30x, cancels out.

    17/30x = 3

    Divide 17/30 on both sides.

    x = 3 / 17/30

    Take the reciprocal

    x = 3 * 30/17

    x = 90/17
