My sister wanted to barbecue the turkey, but it started charring on the outside too quickly, so she brought it to my house to cook in the oven. It turned out just fine.
Last year, I plugged in the roaster and put the turkey in to cook for 5 1/2 hours. I neglected to set the temperature, so the turkey was baking at "Keep Warm" temperature..... we had turkey about an hour after dessert.

Nope. Everything went off without a hitch, BUT it required an enormous amount of work to make it so. Still, glad to do it. Dinner was great! And plentiful.

A friend had one turkey deep-fried, I cooked another in the oven.
The fried turkey may have been overdone a little (I had never tried it before).
The oven baked turkey was good, I just now made a quick sandwich!
