I was just listening to "Sunday Morning Coming Down" & the memories flooded in.
When I was a much younger man I was away from home working in a tiny outback Queensland town.
There was nothing to do on Sundays (Except work).I practically adopted the song as my theme song.
It was a lonely time.

Pretty cool attempt for a guy with his voice range.Personally I prefered Roberta's cover better.
The first time, ever I saw your face
I thought the sun rose in your eyes
And the moon and the stars
Were the gifts you gave
To the dark, and the endless skies
My Love.
And the first time, ever I kissed your mouth
I felt the earth move in my hands
Like the trembling heart
Of a captive bird
That was there, at my command
My Love.
And the first time, ever I lay with you
I felt your heart so close to mine
And I knew our joy
Would fill the earth
And last, til the end of time
My Love.
And last, 'til the end of time.
My love.
The first time, ever I saw
Your face
Your face
Your fa-ace
Your face...................xox LL
how to hit the high notes, thanks,
You're My First, My Last, My Everything by Barry White
The first, the last, my everything
And the answer to all my dreams
You're my sun, my moon, my guiding star
My kind of wonderful, that's what you are
I know there's only, only one like you
There's no way they could have made two
You're all I'm living for
Your love I'll keep for evermore
You're the first, your the last, my everything
And with you I've found so many things
A love so new only you could bring
Can't you see it's you
You make me feel this way
You're like a fresh morning dew on a brand new day
I see so many ways that I
Can love you till the day I die
You're my reality, yet I'm lost in a-a-a a dream
You're the first, the last, my everything
I know there's only, only one like you
There's no way they could have made two
Girl you're my reality
But I'm lost in a-a-a a dream
You're the first, you're the last, my everything.....

Remind me to tell ya bout the time my brother and I met Johnny and June on a backroad in Canada... we were riding along when a limo crested the hill ahead and came rolling to a stop (as we did also) beside us and the window rolled down and the man in black said...." Hi there..I'm Johnny Cash and this here is my wife June Carter..." ahhh what a hoot ! Oh...I guess I jus' told ya !! :D LL
.Starry, starry night.
Paint your palette blue and grey,
Look out on a summer's day,
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul.
Shadows on the hills,
Sketch the trees and the daffodils,
Catch the breeze and the winter chills,
In colors on the snowy linen land.
Now I understand what you tried to say to me
how you suffered for your sanity
how you tried to set them free.
They would not listen
they did not know how
perhaps they'll listen now.
Starry, starry night.
Flaming flowers that brightly blaze, Swirling clouds in violet haze,
Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue.
Colors changing hue, morning field of amber grain,
Weathered faces lined in pain,
Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.
For they could not love you,
But still your love was true.
And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night,
You took your life, as lovers often do.
But I could have told you, Vincent,
This world was never meant for one
As beautiful as you.
Starry, starry night.
Portraits hung in empty halls,
Frameless head on nameless walls,
With eyes that watch the world and can't forget.
Like the strangers that you've met,
The ragged men in the ragged clothes,
The silver thorn of bloody rose,
Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow.
Now I think I know what you tried to say to me,
How you suffered for your sanity,
How you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they're not listening still.
Perhaps they never will...

IWC knows a thing link or two about pilot's watches having supplied many forces throughout history. Plenty of real-life pilots wear them too. For this Week on the Wrist segment we tapped Jackson Hole-based pilot Jourdan Urbach for his take on IWC's "Little" Big Pilot. And this isn't the first time we've put the watches to the test in the cockpit link we can't forget link about the time Jack was allowed to fly a business jet in New York airspace.
